Some numbers and names are worth more than others. Gold numbers like No. 777 and three-character handles are never handed out: they are won here, in public, in $SI. 50% of every winning bid is burned for good.
Each auction runs 48 hours. A bid in the last 10 minutes keeps it open 10 minutes more, so nobody wins by sniping.

How it works
Bid with a promise, pay only if you win
Bid
Sign in with your SI Passport and bid in whole $SI. Your wallet has to hold the amount when you bid. Nothing moves.
Win
The top bid when the clock runs out wins. You have 24 hours to pay.
Pay once
One transaction from your wallet: 50% is burned on the spot and the rest goes to the community treasury.
Wear it
A gold number shows on your Passport and its data page. A handle becomes your Passport's handle at once.
Each new bid has to beat the top bid by 5%. A win that goes unpaid passes to the next bidder down. Two unpaid wins pause bidding for 90 days.
FAQ
Auctions, answered
What is a gold number?
A collectible number that sits on your SI Passport next to your Passport number, like No. 7, No. 777 or No. 2026. Each gold number exists once and belongs to the Passport that won it.
Why can I not pick a three-character handle?
Short handles are rare, so they are only won here. Passports that already had one keep it. Longer handles stay free to pick, as always.
Where does the $SI go?
In the same transaction you sign: 50% is burned, gone from the supply for good, and the rest goes to the $SI community treasury, sitreasury.sol. Every sale shows its transaction here.
Is a gold number or handle an investment?
No. It is a cosmetic mark on your Passport. It gives no rights, no yield and no claim on anything, and it cannot be sold or moved to another Passport.
